Further Information to Make Your Visit Easier
Upon Arrival
Please check in with the receptionist, who will begin a permanent record
for you. Please bring all your insurance cards, even if they may not cover
routine eye exams. If your insurance requires a referral, please be sure
to obtain one. You will be asked to complete an information sheet and
the medical history sheet.
The Exam Begins
You will be brought into an examination room by one of our certified Ophthalmic
Medical Personnel who will take a history regarding your eye problems,
medications, and general health background. They will then proceed with
initial testing and may give you eye drops in accordance with the doctor's
instructions. The doctor will continue your exam.

Certified Ophthalmic Medical Personnel
are skilled technical individuals who perform examinations and patient
services assigned by the ophthalmologist with whom they work.
Our office maintains high standards by employing credentialed personnel.

Certification is proof of having fulfilled certain requirements of
academic and clinical education and of having successfully completed
the appropriate written and practical examination, conducted under
the authority of the Joint Commission of Allied health Personnel in
Ophthalmology (JCAHPO). |

Health Education
We have found that patients are less anxious about their eyes if they
are well informed. Our office offers a wide variety of patient education
materials. Pamphlets are available concerning a wide range of subjects.
Some topics include cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, and laser treatments.
Pamphlets may be taken home or given to friends.
Eyeglasses
We have an Optical Shop located at One Lake St. We have a large selection
of frames in a wide price range. Our Optical Shop is open M-F 8:30-6:00
and Sat. by appointment only. Tel 827-3340
Surgery
Cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation is done with the newest
technique called phacoemulsification. We provide small incision, no stitch,
no needle, no patch cataract surgery. This procedure is done through a
very small incision which allows for quicker healing time and visual recovery.
VITREO RETINAL SURGERY
- We utilize the latest vitroretinal surgical techniques for repair of:
Retinal Detachment, Diabetic Vitrectomy, Macular puckers, and Macular
Holes. Our office is fully equipped with diagnostic imaging systems including
Fluorescein and ICG Angiography. We have red, green, and yellow wavelength
laser as well as Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) available for macular degeneration.
Pneumatic Retinopexy and Cryotherapy are available office procedures.
REFRACTIVE SURGERY
has been a specialty of ours for over 15 years. Laser-in-Situ Keratotomy
(LASIK) and photo Refractive Keratotomy (PRK) are done at Precision LASIK
Group.
We have some of the most advanced technology in New
England, including Excimer, YAG, and Argon lasers, as well as the recent
retinal technology of Photodynamic Therapy.
Our Surgical Coordinator will assist you with surgical
scheduling and coordination of preoperative testing.
Medicare
Our office accepts assignment for all Medicare Claims. We will submit
all medicare claims for you. By Medicare law, each patient is responsible
for the yearly deductible. Patients are also responsible for the 20% co-pay
of the Medicare allowable charge. Medicare does not pay for the refraction
involved in your eye exams, and this is your responsibility.
Health Plans/Payment
Our office participates in most HMOs and PPOs. Please obtain necessary
referrals if your insurance requires them. Payment for fees of our office
visits is requested and appreciated at the conclusion of each visit. Emergencies
and other special situations may be exceptions. Visa, Mastercard, Discover
and American Express are accepted, as are personal checks, money orders,
and cash.
